Every watch we sell is personally sourced, inspected, and shipped from the United States. We do not drop-ship, and we do not rely on third parties. What you see is what we’ve handled ourselves. This project operates under A. Waxman & Company, a Philadelphia-based, family-owned business founded in 1899 in South Philadelphia by Abram Waxman, a Jewish immigrant from Eastern Europe. Originally a glass and mirror distributor at the turn of the 20th century, AWC has evolved across generations into a company defined by curiosity, trade, and craftsmanship. More than 125 years later, A. Waxman & Company remains proudly headquartered in Philadelphia and is 100% owned and operated by the Waxman family. Why is a family-owned company based in Philadelphia importing Chinese watches? It's simple: value. Over the past two decades, Chinese watchmakers have mastered the full spectrum of horology: precision movements, hand-finishing, tourbillons, minute repeaters, enamel and guilloché dials, and original industrial design. Many of the factories producing these watches also manufacture components for well-known Swiss and global brands. What sets modern Chinese watchmaking apart is value and independence. Without the marketing overhead, legacy pricing, or artificial scarcity common elsewhere in the watch world, Chinese brands are able to focus on engineering, materials, and design—often delivering watches that rival or exceed competitors costing many times more. We source watches from makers who are proudly based in China, who design and manufacture in-house, and who stand behind their work.
